The Girls of Milford Track and Field ran extremely well in a very tough Regional at Milford Friday.
Qualifying for the State Finals were the runner-up 3200 Relay team of Victoria Heiligenthal, Abby Hiipakka, Regan Lobodzinski, and Paige Saiz in a sizzling 9:27.74. Victoria’s split of 2:14.73 is the fastest ever recorded in Milford history and Abby, Regan, and Paige ran lifetime bests.
The 800 saw Victoria Heiligenthal completely control the race, as she won the Regional title in 2:15.11
The 3200 had 3 Milford runners showcase what kind of results can come with complete dedication. Regan Lobodzinski 3rd in 11:05.56 # 6 All Time, Paige Saiz 5th 11:08.42 # 7 All Time ( Junior Record ) qualified for State. Abby Hiipakka 10th, a State qualifier earlier in the day ran an outstanding 11:17.57 to put her # 9 All Time in the illustrious history of Milford Distance running.
The 1600 Relay qualified for the 5th year in a row with a 3rd place time of 4:04.08. The team of Devon Beale, Abby Knapp, Victoria Heiligenthal, and Abbie Kozel hit the standard to finish off a great night for the host team.
The girls will look to mix it up with the elite at the State Finals on June 2 at East Kentwood
