The Boys of Milford Track and Field had a very successful night at the MHSAA Regional hosted at Milford.
Qualifying for the State Finals were Gunnar Gustafson, Carson Jensen, Evan White, Grant Ballard, and Nolan Preis.
The 400 Meter Dash won by Gunnar Gustafson broke a 50 year old school record previously held by Mike Sutton. The Regional Champ was patient, poised, and quietly confident as he thundered around the first turn, remained silky smooth down the back stretch, and when he amped it up to lighting ⚡️speed on his signature turn before the homestretch; the race was on to destiny. His exemplary final time was 49.16.
Carson Jensen won the 300 Hurdles. He would be challenged to the end but the champ was focused, determined and simply would not be denied. He entered rarified air as the #4 All Time in Milford history with a very strong 39.63.
Evan White was brilliant in the 3200, finishing runner-up and placing himself amongst the true elite distances runners in the amazing history of Milford as the #9 All Time performer with a fantastic 9:25.55.
The 1600 Relay team of Grant Ballard, Carson Jensen, Nolan Preis, and Gunnar Gustafson made it dramatic and exciting by qualifying by a mere .15 hundredths of a second in 3:26.85.
The boys will look to continue to represent Milford with pride and excellence on the big stage at the State Finals held at East Kentwood on June 2.
