MHSAA REGION 4 MEET: Huron Valley United earned a spot in Friday’s team finals on Friday, March 10 at Rockford after a third-place finish on March 3 at Walled Lake Central.

Farmington United scored 145.775 points to take first place and qualified along with runner-up Northville (141.850) and Huron Valley (141.375), a combined team made up of gymnasts from White Lake Lakeland and Milford high schools.

Rounding out the Region 4 field was Grosse Pointe (139.225), Port Huron (134.950), Birmingham (133.500), Fraser (131.626) and Walled Lake Maroon (127.600).

Five Huron Valley gymnasts also qualified for the individual finals on Saturday, March 10 at Rockford.

Freshman Nicole Graham (Lakeland) was third in the all-around including a second on balance beam; fifth, floor exercise; eighth, vault and uneven parallel bars. Sophomore Rachel Palaian (Lakeland) was fifth in the all-around highlighted by a fourth on both beam and vault, along with a sixth on bars.

Senior Lauren Graham (Lakeland) placed fifth on bars and beam, while junior Erin Murphy (Lakeland) took sixth on bars and seventh on beam. Freshman Laura Nowicki (Milford) added a sixth on floor.
